Barix Exstreamer 100: IP Audio Decoder

The Barix Exstreamer 100 is a versatile network audio decoder for a variety of applications. It enables users to create flexible, cost effective distributed audio systems using standard IP technology.

The Barix Exstreamer 100 plays MP3, G.711, & CPM audio files from PC or web server (http) as well as legacy digital and analog sources (using the Barix Instreamer) and streams from sources like Shoutcast, Icecast (internet radio) or RTP servers (instreamer).

The device is easily controlled by a standard web browser and with the optional Barix IR remote control. With serial and Ethernet control API’s, the device can also be managed from typical automation systems. Installing the Barix Exstreamer 100 is fast and simple due to its unique features SonicIP and IPzator: On power up the device finds a correct IP address and announces it over the audio and headphone outputs

Interfaces:

Headphone Out (3.5mm Jack)
RJ45 10/100 Mbit Ethernet
Dsub 9pin for RS232
USB interface for memory sticks
Stereo RCA output

Audio Formats:

MP3 up to 320 kBit fixed & variable bit rates

When paired with the Barix Instreamer 100 Encoder, the Exstreamer is a low-cost and reasonably reliable method of audio backhaul for Hosted Distribution. (If you have the budget for it, though, our most strongly recommended method of IP audio backhaul is the APT Horizon with SureStream.)
